As a parallel event to the INET conference, the OECD presented results of the New Approaches to Economic Challenges programme (NAEC) and held a discussion, led by Gabriela Ramos, OECD Chief of Staff, in which Karl Aiginger, director of WIFO and coordinator of WWWforEurope also took part.

Karl Aiginger discussed one of three questions at NAEC@INET, specifically how to mainstream long-term environmental challenges in policy making, with Michael Grubb (University College London), Ian Goldin, (University of Oxford), John Kay (LSE), Lynn Stuart Parramore (AlterNet, New Economic Dialogue Project), and Shardul Agrawala (OECD).

Aiginger highlighted the need that the important results from the NAEC project, which very much coincide with WWWforEurope’s findings should find their way into the country reports, which are important for the transmission of ideas into economic policy. The discussion was chaired by Simon Upton (OECD).
