2013 marked the 7th anniversary of the Research Centre Conference of the Faculty of Business and Economics at Mendel University, Brno. The main concern of the conference was analysis, evaluation and discussion of the impacts of financial crisis on the European economy and the Eurozone future. A special focus was dedicated to the Central and Eastern European countries and also the EU periphery countries.

Economists and academics from Europe and USA attended the conference, including Antonin Rusek of Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, USA, and Grigoris Zarotiadis of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

The international participants presented 25 research and discussion papers related to the topic of the conference. Seven research papers including the key note lecture given by the coordinator of the WWWforEurope project, Prof. Karl Aiginger, director of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO), Vienna, describing the results of the WWW for Europe project, were presented in special conference sessions.

Apart from presenting and discussing high quality research papers and comments, the conference was also successful in terms of dissemination of the project information and interim results.
