He gave a talk on the question "Southern Europe: Burden for Europe or bridge to the future?", which drew on the WWWforEurope policy brief on strategy change in Southern Europe as well as on a critical assessment of the "Success model Germany" (article in German). Download Presentation
Other presentations were held by Anna Diamantopoulou, former EU commissioner on Labour and former Minister of Education in Greece, by Tassos Giannitsis, professor at the University of Athens and former member of Greek government, Kostas Simitis, former Chancellor of Greece and Horst Reichenbach, current head of the “Task Force Greece” of the European Commission.
The discussion between former politicians, current members of the EU parliament, Greek professors of economics and the future oriented perspectives of a new European growth path beyond austerity enabled new short and long run perspectives for Southern Europe as well as the Euro zone and lead to expectations and a policy agenda for the European Council on economic policy on June 27th and 28th, 2013.
