UNIVDUN offers degrees at all academic levels and has a high profile in both teaching and researchEconomists at Dundee took a leading role in the establishment of, and are now active contributors to, the Scottish Institute for Research in Economics (SIRE: www.sire.ac.uk). SIRE pools key areas of strength within the Scottish Economics research base in three thematic programmes: Behaviour, Incentives and Contracts, Work and Well-being, and Macroeconomics, Financial Linkages and the Regions. Economics staff at Dundee (with particular research strengths in international economics, macroeconomics, labour economics and health economics) are active in all three programmes of SIRE and hold the Directorship of the Work and Well-Being programme.

The contributions to the WWWforEurope project will rely upon the significant pool of methodological expertise both within UNIVDUN and, more broadly, within SIRE in the areas of Work and Well-being, Macro and International Economics. Staff has published research on (i) globalisation, competitiveness, and well-being; (ii) outsourcing; (iii) labour market institutions and FDI; and (iv) globalisation and the welfare state. They also have a track record of engagement with stakeholders in the public sector and the private sector, particularly in the area of Knowledge Transfer.
